About Dr. Elise Brown
I began my journey into the alternative health field in 1995 when I quit my job working in pharmaceutical sales to go to Chiropractic College in Missouri. (I consistently found myself talking to physicians about diet rather than the drugs I was selling; so pharmaceutical sales was not my niche and I made a bold 360 degree turn!) In fact, I was suffering badly with allergy health problems and was taking four medications daily when I entered Chiropractic College. While some get relief with Allergy health issues with straight Chiropractic care, I was not one of them.
I began taking the acupuncture courses on the weekends while in college, and got treatments for myself. Within a few months I weaned myself completely off the four medications I was taking and graduated from Logan College of Chiropractic in 1999 completely drug free!
I was so impressed with the ability to get off the allergy medications with the addition of acupuncture, that I made the decision to continue my education at the American College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Houston, Texas where I received my masters degree in 2004.
While Acupuncture and Herbal support had enhanced my health to the point that I no longer depended on medications, I still suffered with chronic allergy sinusitis and continued with acupuncture treatments to help recover from the acute allergy episodes. I thought I was doing well just maintaining these health gains until I began experiencing autoimmune symptoms of joint pains, rashes, and fatigue. I began treatment from many different angles which included Chiropractic, Acupuncture, Chinese Herbs, and Nutritional support for inflammation and joint health. But nothing helped!
My search for my own health issues brought me to NAET (Nambudripad’s Allergy Elimination Technique) and NUTRITION RESPONSE TESTING. I began with the Allergy Elimination Technique and did get some improvement. But I reached a plateau and my search led me further to NUTRITION RESPONSE TESTING which has been the technique that did the detective work to uncover the true root of my health issues.
I found that no matter what we do to enhance our health, it will always be very limited if we do not get to the true root cause of our symptoms and address any barriers that would keep us from getting better.
